Helping users regain confidence in their safety during the Covid-19 pandemic by allowing them to det
The Covid-19 Pandemic hit the world without warning; We all had to change our daily routines, we all had our mental health challenged, and feeling safe became the most important thing to all of us. During this design sprint, our team noticed that going outside played a major role in our users' new routines. Now users fear for their safety and need stronger tools to make more informed choices. This is why we chose Griffith Park to design a solution that allows users to determine crowd risk factors prior to visiting.
While Griffith Park provides a much needed outlet for Los Angeles locals during the Covid-19 pandemic, there are gaps in the parks pandemic preparations.
While Griffith Park provides a much needed outlet for Los Angeles locals during the Covid-19 pandemic, there are gaps in the park's pandemic preparations. Visitors have no way of knowing if the park is Covid safe and mask compliant before they arrive. Visitors have different comfort levels when it comes to crowd density.

Grand Park is coined as being "The Park for Everyone" and provides those who visit with a natural landscape that allows them to take a break from the busy lifestyle of Downtown Los Angeles. Grand Park works in conjunction with the music center and their overall goal is to bring the community together.
As Designers we asked: How might we allow users to experience Grand Park in a unique way?
[Insight 1] The events the park hosts is what often gets visitors from other parts of Los Angeles to make the rare trip to the park. [Insight 2] Grand Park takes pride in the plant life featured throughout the park.
We looked towards Grand Park's roots: nature. We decided to build an interactive connection to plants via music, inspired by Grand Park's connection to The Music Center, that retained local users and far away visitors for the beauty in their backyard.

Our project goal was to design a mini game based on classic pong mechanics. We chose to model our version of pong based off an exaggerated story of our time as students and incorporated some game mechanics of the game flappy bird. For this project we designed all game elements, and coded the game in pJS5, and finally created a two person game controller using an arduino kit.
Our goal was to create a game with its own scoring system and failure state, as well as create a custom controller using an arduino kit.
This was an interesting study in game design, and created a way for us to reimagine retro games into our own world.
The final solution is an arduino game coded in pJS5.
