An individualized hub for patients to prepare for their appointments.
An individualized hub for patients to prepare for their appointments at Planned Parenthood.
The main problem we identified is that there is no streamlined platform for patients to access information personalized to them. Instead, the search for information is scattered across different platforms. Planned Parenthood’s website has useful information to prepare patients for their visit, however we discovered there is a lack of engagement with their content online.
Privacy - Many of Planned Parenthood’s patient demographics include 18 - 24 year olds who don’t want their parents or partners finding out about their appointment. From our user testing we discovered that patients want to leave a minimal digital trail and worry less about their privacy. Organized Information - One challenge we ran into is how to organize this information to prevent cognitive overload. We tailored the information based on when it would be most relevant and useful for them.
To bridge this gap, we created an individualized hub for patients to access information at the right place and time. Patients will receive nudge texts with a link to learn more about their appointment with curated information based on their health services.
Creating engagement at Grand Park
Project with Grand Park to design a memorable solution for park visitors so they can have a slice of the park wherever they go.
LA locals view Grand park as an event venue instead of an outdoor central gathering space. Locals are searching for unique LA experiences, but only visit the park if there’s a specific event happening.
Unique Experience - There’s an opportunity to create a unique experience for park visitors different from an event. More than Grass - People need more than just a grass patch because they can get that from a neighborhood park.
Grand Games is an interactive park experience that lets you reconnect with your inner play. By integrating playful challenges into Grand Park’s physical space, park-goers can remember the games of their childhood and be introduced to new cultures.
Interactive board design to create community at a satellite campus
Designed and implemented a community board inside Everytable’s cafeteria at the Center for Media and Design satellite campus.
Students at the Bundy satellite campus felt no sense of community compared to the main campus at Santa Monica College.
There is a lack of community and ownership at satellite campuses. Information is scattered and disorganized throughout the building. Lastly, everyone wants to have a sense of belonging at the campus.
Bundy Boards is an interactive community board to help facilitate community at a satellite campus. Students and faculty members have an opportunity to learn and engage with the board by either reading about the available student services or adding their own information in a categorized section on the board.
