An AR Digital Fashion Zine
"Compiled is an interactive zine that combines print, augmented reality (AR), and digital media to respond to a design culture that prioritizes speed and efficiency over craftsmanship. Tech and design are used as an artistic medium to reveal the intentional, handmade details that usually get lost behind a screen. The printed zine is the entry point to the entire experience. By scanning a single QR code on the zine, viewers unlock AR features throughout the zine and booth. Within the zine, Pixie is introduced as a persona I created to embody my art practice. Presented through fashion editorials, Pixie models digital garments designed in CLO3D. Through AR, viewers explore the specific materials and construction of each piece. By combining print and digital media, Compiled encourages viewers to slow down and engage with the craftsmanship rather than passively consume it "

"The primary challenge of this project was establishing a clear direction for my transition to becoming an independent New Media Artist. I wanted to showcase my core skills in graphic design, digital fashion, motion design, and creative coding without the work feeling disconnected or scattered. The challenge was finding a format that could bring these specialties together while presenting them as a cohesive artistic practice. The solution was Compiled, a physical zine that combined print, AR, motion graphics, and digital fashion into a single experience. Throughout the project, I focused on creating a consistent visual identity that connected each discipline. The final result established a clearer direction for my future work and provided a foundation for future issues of Compiled. "
"1. WebAR Testing Early AR testing focused on browser-based solutions using MindAR. Through testing, I found that different file formats affected both visual quality and performance, leading me to adopt Kivicube for the final experience. 2. Zine Construction Multiple print prototypes were created to test booklet construction, page order, layout, and production workflow. This process helped refine how the digital and physical components worked together. 3. Character Development Pixie was developed to represent my artistic practice and provide a consistent identity throughout the project. This process included creating a character brief, working with a 2D artist, and developing a final character reference sheet to hand over to the 3D artist to turn into a 3D model. 4. 3D Character Production After completing the reference sheet, I hired a 3D artist to create Pixie. The first version did not fully align with the approved design, leading me to select a new artist and continue development until the character better reflected the original concept. 5. Digital Fashion Design Once Pixie was complete, I imported the character into CLO3D and began creating digital garments. These designs were later featured throughout the zine and established a workflow for future fashion projects. "

"The final solution was Compiled, an interactive zine designed to introduce my work as a New Media Artist. Rather than presenting graphic design, digital fashion, motion design, and creative coding as separate projects, the zine brought them together within a single experience. Visitors could pick up a physical copy, scan a QR code, and unlock AR content throughout the publication. A central part of the project was Pixie, a character created to represent my artistic practice. Pixie appears throughout the zine, modeling digital fashion garments that I designed in CLO3D, creating a consistent visual identity across the publication. Motion graphics created in After Effects were integrated into the AR experience, allowing animations to extend beyond the printed page. The final prototype combined print, AR, digital fashion, and motion design into a single format that reflected the direction of my practice. The project established a foundation for future issues of Compiled while creating opportunities to further develop Pixie, digital fashion collections, and interactive experiences. "
