A smart map management app to help you get from point A to B the quickest way, with the least amount of apps to go through. Shop, navigate, and collect rewards. All in one place.
Westfield Century City is two-level, 1.3 million-square-foot outdoor shopping mall in the Century City commercial district. Thousands of people visit there to shop, work, and eat. Currently, there are 57 spots where customers can enjoy food, and 31 of them offer takeout options. That’s more than half. But do you know how many parking spots they have for food pickup? 3. Out of 5,000 parking spots available. Current parking situation at Westfield Century City makes it hard for mall visitors to drive there - especially those who just want to come pick up food and leave. Statistics on remote workers reveal that more than 4.7 million people work remotely at least half the time in the United States, and for some of them its hard to make lunch at home every day. At the same time, it is also hard to go pick up food in a limited time, especially when they it takes unexpectedly long time for them to do so. We wondered, how might we make the parking experience less stressful, overwhelming, and time-consuming for Westfield Century City visitors picking up food? How can we make sure that food orders will be hot and ready the moment the user walks in the door?
Even though Westfield City mall has become an urban oasis in Los Angeles, through interviews and research, we discovered that Westfield Century City has critical problems when it comes to their parking situation. 27.2% of their Yelp reviews are 1 and 2-star: Almost all of them are complaining about how difficult and time-consuming it is to just find a spot to park, and how confusing their way-finding system is. One of the interviewees told us that even though Westfield Century City mall is the closest location where she can get her favorite food, but she would rather avoid the mall and drive somewhere else to get food because she gets overstimulated by the parking situation. She also told us that it's simply "not worth it" to deal with the parking situation there.
Our solution was Mapply, a smart map management app to help users get from point A to B the quickest way, with the least amount of apps to go through. With API integrations and in-app browsers, users never have to leave the app in order to complete their errand in the most efficient and quickest way possible. With our Smart Map, Mapply creates a seamless ordering and pickup system to help users complete errands and tasks in a timely manner based on the location's current pickup and curbside system available. Mapply provides alternative options to using AR. Users also have an option listen to audio navigation on headphones and view Mapply directions on a smart watch. This way, visibility isn’t obscured in already congested areas. With Mapply, users can find themselves happily benefiting from the program’s navigation system, where they can be directed throughout the mall with ease. In addition to the easy-to-use navigation system, using Mapply benefits not only the customer but also the mall. After purchases, the app provides exclusive points and discounts that bring people back to the mall to explore different sites.

CicLAvia partners often lacked the knowledge, tools, and connection to truly thrive. The gap can make it difficult for partners to make the most of CicLAvia, and this results in them losing great opportunities of engaging with their local community and promoting their businesses.
Just having a booth at the event doesn’t guarantee partners ultimate success - they need guidance on how to engage with participants, how to present themselves, and how to prepare to make the most of CicLAvia.
We created CicLAvia Hub Partner Guide: a guide fills that gap by offering crucial resources, inspiring creative engagement, and emphasizing their role as co-creators within CicLAvia's mission. It empowers partners to make a lasting impact and feel deeply connected to the event's heart and soul. It arms partners with everything they need - information, tools, and inspiration - to not just participate, but co-create. They'll design engaging activities, connect with fellow partners, and feel empowered to be the artists transforming streets into playgrounds. Together, partners and CicLAvia will paint a masterpiece of community, sustainability, and a vibrant Los Angeles.
